18 October 2026 – 19 November 2026
This exhibition brings together two artists with a shared history: Michèle Nigrini and Willem Pretorius. The two friends share a long-held connection to the Eastern Free State village of Rosendal. They might have had their surroundings in common, but their artistic journeys are quite different.
59 x 50 cm, mixed media on Fabriano paper, framed
Willem’s work is expressed by themes, documenting how the Platteland changes, and viewing the evolving landscape with a realist’s eye. Michèle, having since moved to Stanford, continues to explore her surroundings through gesture, chance and mark-making.
Here and There brings together their distinctive artistic languages. It is a visual conversation about place, memory, landscape and how we experience the world around us.
